Meeting Grandma Marini

Aimee left Merced for the first time on Thursday for meet-and-greets in Atwater, Turlock and Modesto. She was introduced to people at the bakery where Amanda works, and at my former employer in Turlock. We also took her to see Amanda's old co-workers at JC Penney's in Modesto, but the most important visit of the day was to my 90-year-old great-grandmother's house in Modesto. Aimee met her great-great grandmother, Lee Marini, for the first time on Thursday.

A package arrived in the mail today from my Great Aunt Marilyn. It was a painting showing a woman (a representation of Amanda) with a baby. It's an awesome gift. We're going to get it framed and put it on Aimee's wall as soon as we can.
